Sasha joined Lonza in 2012, as an Operations Technician in Salisbury. He took the opportunity to spend three years working in Singapore as a Biotechnologist before returning to Salisbury in 2016. His broader understanding of the business presented him with avenues into leadership, first into a Supervisor role, then in 2019 he advanced into his current role of Site Manager at Salisbury, overseeing the raw material production of Limulus Amebocyte Lysate (LAL).

Since I
started at Lonza, my career has progressed…
By seeing challenges as opportunities to grow and develop. I began my career in 2012, as an Operations Technician at the Salisbury site. I then took the opportunity to travel to Singapore and work at the site in Tuas from 2013-2016 before returning to the Salisbury site and being promoted from a Lead Technician to a Supervisor role. In 2019, I advanced into my current position as the Salisbury Site Manager. I have faced challenges in each role but I think challenges are important for us to grow and develop. As I settle into year two as a Site Manager, I can look back at those challenges as accomplishments.

One of the special things is the opportunity to interact with a hugely diverse group of people. This leads to various perspectives on problem solving and creative approaches to innovation, both of which I believe are key to how Lonza continues to grow and remain successful.

I know that the dedication we put into our craft and our work could possibly save someone’s life.
What
makes me feel good at the end of the working day is…
LAL impacts the lives of every individual on this planet. All injectables are required by the FDA to be tested for bacterial endotoxin using LAL. I feel good knowing that if someone received a vaccine, any type of implanted device, or intravenous solutions, their life has been touched by what I have helped to produce.
The most
exciting thing about working at Lonza is…
The people. I have a great team at the Salisbury site, and we are pretty much like a family here.
What I
most appreciate about my team is…
The pride they take in the work that they do and their dedication to supporting each other, helping everyone out and meeting our goals together as a team.
