My career started at Lonza as an Operator in one of our purification manufacturing suites. Over the years I have held several positions, including Deviation Investigation Writer, Manufacturing Supervisor, and Manufacturing Manager. In addition to working at the Portsmouth site, I have also had the opportunity to work in Singapore.
As a Manufacturing Manager, I oversee operations on the manufacturing floor of one of our newest suites during the night shift. With fewer support groups on-site at night, the team is highly resourceful and adept at problem-solving. This environment helps build knowledge and creates a strong sense of camaraderie.
Lonza is unique because every day is different. I love working for a contract manufacturer because we constantly work on new products, innovations, and technology. For example, in the suite I work in, we are the first in the network to use N-1 Perfusion at 2K bioreactor stage. Lonza is always working at the cutting edge of the industry.
What makes Lonza special is the people. Helping my team to develop and watching them learn and grow is very rewarding, and doing so while working for a company that makes products that improve the lives of our customers’ patients makes it even more fulfilling. I am also excited to be part of Portsmouth’s Inclusion, Diversity, and Belonging group and take an active role the evolution of the company.
