Lars
Head of Late Stage Programs Manufacturing, Lonza Netherlands
A soccer-loving father of two, Lars is from Roermond in the Netherlands. As Head of Late Stage Programs Manufacturing, his challenge is to help clients get life-saving products on the market. It’s a task that involves balancing targets, performance and the satisfaction of both clients and employees. But Lars wouldn’t swap Production for any other team.
I chose
Lonza because…
I like the work atmosphere, the energetic environment and the unlimited possibilities.
Since I
started at Lonza, my career has progressed…
…step by step within Manufacturing. I started as an Operator (Biotech Associate in 2011), growing into a Senior Operator role before then becoming a Team Leader. After this, I took on a Group Leader position, and in mid-2019, I became a Production Manager. I’ve always worked in Manufacturing as I like a hands-on challenge.
It’s
special to work at Lonza because…
It’s a very lively environment, where departments have to work together in order to achieve something amazing: enabling our clients to improve patients’ lives.
My work
is meaningful because…
It has a big impact. In manufacturing, you have direct contact with the patient’s medicine and can often be holding the patient’s own cells in your hand. Your contribution is life changing.
What
makes me feel good at the end of the working day is…
Achieving our manufacturing goal, with all employees happy and satisfied at the same time.
The most
exciting thing about working at Lonza is…
Manufacturing new types of medication – we don’t make pills or creams; we make living medicines.
What I
most appreciate about my team is...
Their dedication to making our work a success. If you have that kind of commitment, we’re always looking for talent to join our team. At Lonza, if you have the right mindset, you can achieve all sorts of things.
