Key responsibilities:

  • Set-up and validate data infrastructure to enable building of MVA models for online process monitoring
  • Data mining, data cleaning and preparation for analysis
  • Build, validate and deploy MVA models for online process monitoring and offline process investigations
  • Participate in and contribute to investigation of basic and complex process and equipment failure while gaining exposure to process while working with MSAT Scientist / SME
  • Develop and implement process monitoring tools, process advisory and predictive process control tools to solve complex bio-processing problems by using advanced statistical and data science techniques
  • Execute and lead complex scientific investigations for root cause analysis and to optimize process variables, providing knowledge and insight to Process Scientists and Engineers
  • Design, build and implement tools that provide analytical insights.  Develop comprehensive understanding of Lonza data structures and metrics to assess data needs, develop/ maintain best suited models, advocating and educating for improved utilization and understanding of how data science can benefit the site.

Key requirements:

  • Degree or Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Biology or related discipline
  • Competent in Multivariate Analysis and other statistical methods
  • Approaches high-level data challenges with a clear eye on what is important; employing the right approach/methods to make the maximum use of time and human resources
  • Excellent communication skills, outstanding action orientation and ability to work well in a cross-functional technical environment
  • Demonstrated track record in completing projects under tight timelines
  • Independent and a good team player
  • Excellent Organizational Skills
  • Customer focus
  • Meticulous and detail oriented
  • Understanding of cGMP regulations is preferable.
