We are hiring a driven Associate Director Process Engineering to provides end-to-end best in class technology design for core technology platforms in the Drug Product aseptic fill and finish area (e.g. Aseptic Fill machinery, Lyophilization, Serialization) and ensures that these technologies are proven and then deployed as a standard equipment in growth projects and facilities globally.

This position has specific expertise for technologies which are first and foremost needed for Lonza projects in Drug Product facilities.

The preferred location for this position is Stein.

Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families, if needed.

You will provide global support supervision, guidance and harmonization of the respective technology within manufacturing sites In addition, you will lead the technology harmonization governance within the respective business platform.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leadership of technology harmonization governance, involving cross functional teams consisting of Internal Lonza customers such as Global Engineering, Operations, Procurement, MSAT, Site Engineering, and Quality

  • Participate in project strategy decisions as a part of the extended leadership and project teams.

  • Maintain existing technology standards, including document updates, reviews, and approvals

  • Support the discovery, evaluation and implementation of new technologies that bring marked benefit to cost and/or time reduction or yield improvement.

  • Develop standards based on said new technologies and lead the implementation of such technologies within the Lonza network

  • Provide technical input in support of equipment procurement including bid package preparation, bid evaluation, vendor selection

  • Support Global Engineering delivery staff on assisting in the planning and execution of larger, more complex projects and engineering problems

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Biology, Chemistry, Process Engineering, Mechanical or Science related field or equivalent experience

  • Experienced in pharmaceutical manufacturing. Preference to have progressive experience in both engineering & operations or other functions.

  • Experience in the Drug Product Aseptic Fill & Finish field highly preferred

  • Proven positive track record with engineering projects.

  • Ability to influence in a matrix organization and drive projects.

  • English proficient, German an advantage
