Internship Forensic chemistry (m/w/d)

Lonza DPS is constantly expanding its capabilities and portfolio in the manufacturing of VI sets and meets the increasing demand for specialized VI sets for diverse products. The Lab Technician will support in the design, manufacturing and certification of VI test sets. The work will include the design and preparation of surrogate solutions, filling of units (e.g. vials, PFS, bags), imaging, spiking and verification of particle defects, organizing and taking part in the certification of VI sets, as well as the corresponding documentation.

No possibility to write a bachelor's or master's thesis.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out analytical studies using the available Forensic Chemistry technologies (e.g., but not limited to: Light microscopy, FTIR and Raman spectroscopy) to support the needs of Lonza's customers and Operation Sites ​Filling of units (e.g. vials, PFS, bags)
  • Support for visual inspection strategy and development of operator qualification kits.
  • Corresponding documentation

Key requirements:

  • Matriculation or recent graduation from a university or technical college with a background in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology, chemistry, biology, or related fields.
  • A very strong team player.
  • Flexibility, agility, and proactivity with a willingness to learn and execute complex tasks.
  • Self-motivated with a strong passion for science and interest in pharmaceutical R&D.
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills, fluency in English.
  • Attention to detail and a strong sense of accuracy; ability to judge plausibility of results.
  • Lab work experience and analytical instrument knowledge is a plus.
