Lonza AG in idyllic Visp, Switzerland, is looking for a Junior Scientist Quality Control for our raw materials laboratory. Join our growing team and help us maintain world-class production standards in life sciences!

Our raw materials laboratory ensures the release of all chemicals and product contact consumables required for production. In this key role, you will manage the routine release of single-use equipment, primarily through document reviews and IR testing. Acting as the central interface between customers, suppliers, and internal teams, you will gather, analyze, and evaluate critical information to define release specifications and ensure the timely receipt of necessary documentation from suppliers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate the laboratory testing for the release of consumables

  • Take place in meetings for the definition of release specifications

  • Process change requests and deviations under GMP guidelines to maintain seamless operations.

  • Independently coordinate, prioritize, and schedule tasks to successfully implement our ambitious projects.

  • Communicate independently with other departments or suppliers to determine and resolve any issues promptly.

  • Carry out testing in the lab

Key requirements:

  • BSc or MSc in Chemistry or equivalent area

  • Hands-on experience with infrared spectroscopy (IR) is a plus

  • GMP experience is a plus

  • Great organizational and coordination talent. You enjoy working with many different people and you are not shy to proactively reach out to internal and external partners.

  • Fluency in English is a must, German language skills are an advantage
