Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in research, development, and transfer of drug delivery innovations within Lonza.
- Design and conduct experiments, analyze data, and clearly communicate results in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Find opportunities to improve current technology platforms and pursue new technologies. Drive the creation of intellectual property and achieve strategic deliverables.
- Apply scientific and engineering fundamentals broadly in areas such as heat and mass transfer, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, kinetics, chemistry, materials science, and mathematical modeling.
- Use physical models and sound hypotheses to craft work plans and interpret data.
- Design, code, and apply mechanistic and statistical models to guide process chemistry, engineering, and formulation activities.
- Lead innovation in new technology development and improvements to existing technologies that solve important problems in pharmaceutical development.
- Contribute to the establishment of intellectual property around innovations.
- Independently seek out and effectively apply knowledge from literature or other external sources.
- Effectively communicate scientific concepts internally and externally in verbal and written formats, including preparing mentorship documents and publishing results.
- Demonstrate leadership in scientific thought, operational execution, and supporting clients.
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert across the organization.
- Be a technical and professional mentor for less experienced colleagues.

Key Requirements:
- BS or MS or equivalent experience in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field.
- Proven effective communication skills are required due to the multidisciplinary team structures.
- Demonstrated ability to **craft** and conduct experiments, analyze data, and communicate results.
- Experience with designing, coding, and applying mechanistic and statistical models.
- Ability to independently seek out and apply knowledge from external sources.
- Exhibit leadership qualities in scientific and operational contexts.
- Ability to mentor and guide less experienced colleagues.
