I started my career at Lonza as a Process Assistant in Puebla, Mexico, manufacturing Capsugel® Vcaps® Plus, our plant-based polymer capsules. I was promoted through a number of roles to become Process Head in 2013. At that time, I was asked to support some project work and training at the Capsules and Health Ingredients (CHI) site in Greenwood, South Carolina and after several visits, I moved there permanently in 2015.
In my current role, I work on process improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles from the Lonza Business Management System (LBMS). We are constantly improving and innovating our manufacturing equipment and processes, which I find very interesting and exciting. I particularly enjoy the opportunity to learn new methods and share information with my colleagues from other CHI sites around the world. The people I work with are incredible, they are so passionate about what they do and are always striving to be better.
My work helps deliver medicine to people who need it, like my family. I have family members with health conditions that require medication in capsule form, and I am proud to know that we make those capsules at Lonza and help enable people to live healthier lives.
