Taking time off on a regular basis helps to recharge batteries and maintain a positive work-life balance too. This is why we offer holiday allowances that far exceed the basic Swiss legal requirement of 20 days holiday per year:
- Age 20 and under: +10 days
- Age 21 to 49: +5 days
- Age 50 to 59: +10 days
- Age 60 and over: +15 days
Striking a perfect balance between your professional and personal life can be a challenge. At Lonza, we strive to create a healthy work environment. Specifically, we offer:
*where positions allow
We offer our employees fully paid parental leave. Our maternity leave policy includes 14 weeks at 100% compensation (instead of the 80% required by law). This increases to 16 weeks after three years’ service, if returning to work. Paternity leave is offered for 10 days at 100% compensation, giving fathers the opportunity to enjoy some time off work with their newborn.
Commuting has a major impact on our well-being and job satisfaction. We encourage our employees to travel to and from work using public transport, as an easy and environmentally friendly way of commuting. In return, we will fund 75% of employee public transport travel costs from home to work in the form of a travel allowance.
Continuous personal development is key to the success of our future at Lonza. From learning new skills to career progression, we encourage our employees to work with their managers to develop their experience by taking part in:
- On-the-job training
- Structured learning opportunities including virtual reality (VR) training and LinkedIn Learning for Business
- Mentoring and coaching programs
- Personal development plans
- Global experience network
