Lonza AG presents an outstanding opportunity for a Student Internship in Pharmaceutical Development in Switzerland for 6-12 months at 80-100%. Lonza DPS is constantly expanding its capabilities and portfolio in the manufacturing of VI sets and meets the increasing demand for specialized VI sets for diverse products. The intern will support in the design, manufacturing and certification of VI test sets. The work will include the design and preparation of surrogate solutions, filling of units (e.g. vials, PFS, bags), imaging, spiking and verification of particle defects, creation of cosmetic defects (e.g. cracks, scratches), organizing and taking part in the certification of VI sets, as well as the corresponding documentation.  

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and preparation of surrogate solutions
  • Filling of units (e.g. vials, PFS, bags)
  • Imaging, spiking and verification of particle defects
  • Creation of cosmetic defects
  • Coordinating and participating in the certification of VI sets
  • Handling corresponding documentation

Key requirements:

  • Matriculation or recent graduation from a university or technical college with a background in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology, chemistry, biology, or related fields. 
  • A very strong great teammate.  
  • Flexibility, agility, and proactivity with a willingness to learn and complete complex tasks.
  • Skill and enjoyment of manual work (e.g. handling tools to create scratches on glass or metal)
  • Self-motivated with a strong passion for science and interest in pharmaceutical R&D. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in English.
  • Attention to detail and a strong sense of accuracy; ability to judge plausibility of results. 
  • Lab work experience is a plus. 
  • Candidates with a PhD (or equivalent experience) will not be considered for this position.
