Join Lonza as a Senior Import/Export Logistics Trade Analyst, where you will play a crucial role. This outstanding opportunity in Vacaville, CA, allows you to contribute to our ongoing growth by ensuring flawless compliance and operational efficiencies in international logistics.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure transactional compliance with Lonza policy and international trade laws and regulations, including import/export regulations, customs documents, and declarations.

  • Optimize the cross-border movement of goods and material, auditing documents, service provider declarations, and internal processes to validate compliance.

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with noncompliance concerns, supply chain disruptions, and the accurate application of Incoterms and IOR/EOR liability.

  • Record local work instructions following global policy/procedures and educate internal partners on critical concepts including SAP use and non-use, transportation, customs, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Provide operational oversight, monitoring, tracking, tracing, communication, and handling of blocking issues with service providers, including 3PLs, international and domestic carriers, customs brokers, and freight forwarders.

  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, auditing performance, measuring critical metrics, and managing service improvements.

  • Analyze and optimize logistics, trade, and regulatory efficiencies through compliance with data management, policy procedures, and providing actionable insights.

  • Audit service providers and internal processes to ensure compliance with Lonza policy and procedures, manage and report metrics for quality, and ensure document retention according to regulations.

  • Liaise with Indirect Procurement and Category Managers to define user requirements for transport and import/export services.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.

  • Preferred certifications: Logistics Supply Chain certification (APICS CLTD), Import – Customs compliance certification, and Export – regulatory certification.

  • Advanced level of experience in Logistics Supply Chain.

  • Expertise in managing and optimizing international logistics processes.

  • Strong knowledge of global trade regulations, import/export compliance, and federal agency requirements. Skilled in educating and advising internal teams on logistics, global trade, and regulatory matters.

  • Ability to analyze logistics and trade data for cost-saving and risk mitigation.

  • Experience managing service provider relationships to ensure efficient performance and proficiency in identifying and mitigating logistics and trade risks.

The full-time base annual salary for this position is expected to range between $109,800 - $128,100. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and job-related knowledge.
