At Lonza site in Visp we offer an outstanding opportunity for motivated individuals to join our team as a Plant Engineer (m/f/d) in Switzerland. This role is uniquely positioned to make a significant impact on our hi-tech facilities and contribute to our mission of improving lives globally.
Key responsibilities:
Planning and completing partial and small projects, including process engineering calculations and optimizations within the plant
Conducting feasibility studies for new plants or converting existing plants, including cost estimates, time frames and functionality
Performing risk analyses, operational tests, conversions, and providing support within the department
Ensuring maintenance is carried out expertly and economically while technically maintaining sufficient plant availability, including collaborating closely with authorities
Applying SAP for placing orders, conducting technical-commercial evaluations, and planning capacity to optimize plant and personnel deployment
Collaborating in monitoring and adhering to the available budget for maintenance, conversions, and investments within the area of responsibility
Updating and verifying plant documentation, such as flow charts, zone and installation plans, parts lists, and organisational change in accordance with GMP standards
Supporting the training of plant teams and workshop personnel regarding process and plant knowledge, safety, hygiene, environment, and quality (cGMP)
Key requirements:
University degree in Mechanical/ Chemical/ Process Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a similar role. Technical college degree (FH/HF) will also be considered
Experience in Biotech/Pharma production is preferred
Good knowledge of GMP, COMOS (Plant Engineering Software), and SAP is an advantage
Ability to work independently and flexibly, with collaboration skills
Structured, focused, and well-organized work behavior
Accepting new insights and committed to problem-solving
Proficient English is required; good German language skills are an advantage
