Intern Testimonials
I have always been eager to gain practical experience in manufacturing processes beyond the academic setting. My internship at Lonza provided me with the opportunity to study reactor operations and observe system preparation for various products. Additionally, I collaborated with vendors to design a traceable cart that would streamline the movement and storage of filters and single-use equipment.

I decided to pursue an internship with Lonza to deepen my knowledge in Quality Assurance and gain hands-on experience that university alone cannot provide. Additionally, I wanted to hone my soft skills, assess my strengths and interests, and make informed decisions about my career path. Being an intern at Lonza is my most memorable takeaway. The learning opportunities from day one have been invaluable, allowing me to gain a diverse range of experience that have enriched my understanding of the field. Additionally, my colleagues have been incredibly helpful and fun to interact with. The combination of learning experience and positive relationships with my colleagues contributed to making the internship memorable.

Trainee Testimonials
I am a firm believer of being a lifelong learner - learning should not stop at just formal education. Being a fresh graduate out of school and having networked with working professionals in the industry, I realised that there is so much in the biopharma industry for me to explore and learn about. As a trainee, we started out with a 3-months course in Singapore Polytechnic. The course presented me the chance to understand more about industry common practices, from GMP guidelines to upstream and downstream processes to process analytical technology etc.
These valuable knowledge and experiences were shared to us by subject matter experts from various pharmaceutical companies that I wasn’t really exposed to back in my life sciences course in NUS. With this on the job training at Development Services, I am better able to apply what I have previously learnt in university, coupled with what I’ve learnt during the 3-months course in the polytechnic to the commercial projects that I’m involved in DS.
The main takeaway I have for this graduate traineeship program is to have the courage to face challenges and view challenges as stepping stones in the process of developing new skills, especially in CCD where challenges may arise unexpectedly.

Back in 2017, I was a QC intern in Lonza and had the opportunity to be involved in HVAC sampling, which had sparked an interest in me to pursue a career in this field. In 2020, at the start of the COVID pandemic, I came across the traineeship opportunity under QC and that was when I decided that I had to pursue it. The most memorable takeaway from the traineeship was being able to learn about the different aspects of the pharmaceutical industry and gaining hands-on experience.
