Lipid Multiparticulates (LMP)
Functionally coated multiparticulates to target the colon
Specialized enteric capsule technologies
Effective taste & odor masking have been shown to have a marked effect on patient compliance, especially for specialized patient populations. We've developed an array of effective approaches to meet your TPP and the commercial objectives of your compound. Taste masking is accomplished in one of three ways:
Colonic drug delivery is historically utilized to treat colon-specific diseases such as irritable bowel syndrome but is also increasingly explored for other therapeutic applications, taking advantage of the colon’s extensive absorptive surface area. We combine our expertise in encapsulation and targeted delivery to the gastro-intestinal track to achieve effective colonic delivery. Functionally coated multiparticulates designed for drug release at pH 6.8 – 7.2 is a proven approach for targeting the colon. We provide integrated service options for colonic drug delivery, inclusive of API, functionally coated multiparticulates (drug layered inert beads or coated matrix formats, inclusive of lipid multiparticulate approaches), and encapsulation.
Several drug products require formulation strategies to either target certain areas of the gastrointestinal tract for optimized absorption or to provide enteric protection. We offer access to a range of technologies custom-fitted to the individual problem statements and target product profiles. We can provide formulation approaches and technologies for modifying pharmacokinetics of drug compounds to achieve:
Delayed release and/or enteric protection is provided by a functional coating of tablets and multiparticulates, or through the use of specialized enteric capsule technologies.
