This position will be responsible for the operational support of the LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System). This task includes application development and support, system administration with a focus on the LIMS systems. The position focuses on optimal support for system users and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance of the system. In this position, the practical expertise from the laboratory is used to generate ideal solutions for digital logging within the LIMS system.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operational support of the LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).

  • Application development and support, and system administration. Implement program upgrades, report problems, support Laboratory, Production and Quality Assurance personnel with application usage.

  • Create and maintain application procedures and system configuration documents.

  • Maintain stored data and compliance documentation for all related software programs including validation protocols, critical system change requests, and system functional requirements. Perform software validation/changes.

  • Execute software validation documentation and write, execute and review change control documentation. Maintain, modify/upgrade, and troubleshoot programs and upgrades, including creation/modification of product specifications, analyses, and calculations, system problems as they occur and screen maintenance.

  • Evaluate product enhancements and capabilities as required.

  • Translate functional business requirements into technical requirements and specifications.

  • Troubleshoot system-related problems and work with IT to escalate issues to vendor support.

  • Serve as one of the team members to answer LIMS and TrackWise functionality and business process questions.

  • Migration of data to LIMS application to improve data management, increase efficiency, enhance quality control, improve regulatory compliance and improve collaboration.

  • Liaison between the laboratory and IT for the development of new functionality.

  • Train and assist users on the functionality of LIMS and LIMS-bases software.

  • Analyze and assess business impact and urgency of incidents/problems affecting application availability, function and performance to develop work priorities.

  • Provide end-user support. Ensure documentation of training is created and collected.

  • Utilize LIMS. Utilize cGMP principles and Documentum.

Key requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science or Information Technology and 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years of experience in a related occupation utilizing LIMS; and utilizing cGMP principles and Documentum.
