The Scientist works with the purification functions in the dept and performs hands on lab work with high levels of RFT. Customer interaction as member of internal and customer project teams. Supports the lab by taking a role in the lab housekeeping teams.

Responsibilities

  • Adherence to EHS rules and regulations is required at all times.

  • Perform hands-on laboratory work for small scale downstream purification of biologics (mainly antibodies) following protocols and working to GMP standards.

  • Follow work procedures to set up and operate column & membrane chromatography, ultrafiltration and dead-end filtration systems.

  • Contribute to customer projects by generating scientific data from experimental work.

  • Record and review raw data to produce good quality process knowledge and data sets suitable for inspection by regulatory agencies.

  • Deliver high quality communication (written reports, telecons, face to face meetings) to ensure an outstanding customer (both internal and external) experience.

  • Working as part of a site and global project team, co-ordinate multiple projects and ensure timely delivery of project work stages.

  • Facilitate communication between other departments in Singapore and across the global Lonza network.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Science

  • Entry level with up to 2 years prior working experience in a lab either in industry or academia, or via an industry work training program.

  • Understanding of theory and application of mammalian cell culture for production of biological therapeutics

  • Understanding of cGMP regulations

  • Good problem solving and analytical skills with good communication and teamworking skills
